May

Wednesday, 23 – 6 p.m. “Guiding Lights:  Nantucket’s Lighthouses, Keepers & their Families” Opening for Egan Maritime Institute members at the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum.

Thursday, 24   The Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum opens to the public for the season, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily

 

June

Friday, 15 to Sunday 17 – Nantucket Book Festival: Mill Hill Press Nantucket: A Natural History launched by author Peter B. Brace (Mill Hill Press 2012).

Wednesday, 27 – 7 p.m. “Haunted Lighthouses of New England” with Jeremy D’Entremont at the Coffin School.

 

July

Thursday, 12 – 7 p.m.   Underwater Archaeologist and Pirate Historian, Chris Macort to speak at Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum “Pirates of Cape Cod.”

Sunday, 15 - 11 a.m.-3 p.m.   Family Day at the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum.

August

Tuesday, 7 (National Lighthouse Day) – 5 p.m. The Lighthouse Santa, presentation by author Sara Hunter and illustrator Julia Miner at the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum.

Wednesday, 15 – 11 a.m.-3 p.m.  Family Day at the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum

 

September

Tuesday, 11 – 5-7 p.m.  Lifesavers Recognition Day at the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum.
